An extended forecourt stretched from the gatehouse to the main entrance wing of the stately mansion. The monumental doorway passage, framed by two pairs of monolithic columns, still subsists. Its corridor walls are adorned with Roman bas-relief fragments from Mansfeld’s lapidarium. The former entrance porch to the garden had already been transferred to its present-day location in front of the “Brasserie Mansfeld” by the early 19th century.
