Station 8 : Hit the bottom

Scientist 1 : "There you are! Bravo! Well done. There's no time to waste, especially not when the world might be ending."

Scientist 2 : "We're close. There is still hope for the world. This looks promising."

Scientist 1 : "We knew we could count on you! Do you know where you are now? No? You are now standing at the confluence of the Sûre and Moselle river quaintly called "op der Spatz" which, as it happens, is the lowest point in the Grand Duchy. Just 130 metres above sea level. That's practically underwater by mountain standards.

Scientist 2 : "Indeed, and at this most easterly tip of the country, someone with far too much timed colourded tiles in ter hands put together a rather fetching mosaic panel. It shows Luxembourg, its cantons, its rivers, and a sundial. Now we know the next bit of the code is hidden in plain sight – it's the number of cantons. But, as usual, our brains just can't remember…" Scientist 1 : "You've clearly spent too long in the lab, surrounded by beakers and things that burble. It's fried your memory. Lucky for us, we've got you. Can you count the cantons? The coats of arms on the mosaic will help. But beware! There's an anomaly. Of course there is. There's always an anomaly. Remember to subtract 3 from the number you find."

Scientist 2 : "Excellent thinking. He's done a smashing job so far. Surely, he'll figure out the right number of cantons – count the coats of arms, do the math, an ta-da! The next part of the code, revealed."
